From 11 to 13 June 2015 in the premises of the Kiev Theological Seminary hosted a conference “The chaplain as leader. Post a peaceful life. ” At the conference to participate in its work acting chaplains were invited from different Christian denominations, volunteers and chaplains wife.
The aim of the conference was to help the soldiers who returned home from war and have the war trauma and begin a peaceful life, and be able to focus on the military family.
The organizers of the conference were to conduct the mission “Ukraine for Christ”, OHVU and the Ukrainian public organization “Olive Branch Ukraine.”
To conduct plenary sessions and workshops, the conference organizers have invited experienced counseling and chaplains with the United States: Chris and Ranellu Edsit, Martha Stevenson Jones, Jim Ellis, and Robert Hicks.
At the beginning of the conference with a pastoral word and prayer to the Lord for His blessing of participants made Bishop Baptist Community Mikhail Andrashko.
OHVU, “Olive Branch Ukraine” and foreign guests prepared for the conference Christian literature and teaching aids for daily service among the Ukrainian military and members of their families.
With the generalization of the results of the conference before its members were leaders OHVU Vasily Khimich and “Olive Branch Ukraine” Valentin Korenevich.
Following the conference, the participants were given several interviews about the practical use in the service and the knowledge that they have received from their American colleagues. According to them, the abundant blessing of God was felt all the days of the conference. The participants not only gained the necessary knowledge, but also shared their experience of service among the Ukrainian military.
